DB Engineering & Consulting
Chronicle DB E&C

50 year anniversary

DB Engineering & Consulting looks back at half a century of successful engineering services for the rail sector.

Everything started on May 26, 1966, when Deutsche Eisenbahn-Consulting commenced operations as a joint undertaking between Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Bank. Today, the Deutsche Bahn subsidiary DB E & C has become one of the world's leading engineering and consulting firms in the field of infrastructure, mobility, and transport solutions. Its workforce has grown to 4,000 employees: drawn from 66 different nations, they are hard at work across every continent.

DB E&C's list of references includes design and construction supervision for the VDE 8 project, overall design management for the new ICE depot in the Cologne suburb of Nippes, and the relocation of the long-distance station in the Altona suburb of Hamburg (final design and planning for building permit application). On an international scale, there are undertakings such as producing the quality and safety plans for the new metro system in the southern Indian city of Kochi, consulting for maintenance activities and high-speed rail services in China, collaboration on the Canberra light rail system, and designing an entire transportation system for the emirate of Qatar.
