Data protection

Since the protection of your personal data is important to us, particularly in terms of the protection of personal privacy when processing and utilizing this information, we would like to inform you of the following points:

The use of our web pages without providing personal data is possible as a general rule. You will learn below what information we may collect from you, how we handle it and to whom we may provide access to the data.

We collect and process your data exclusively for specific purposes. 
For technical reasons, certain data must be collected and saved when your visit www.db-engineering-consulting.de, for example the date and duration of your visit, the webpages you used, the identification data of the browser and type of operation system in use, the website from which you came to visit us and your IP address. If these data enable an indication of the number of visitors and how our website is used, data is collected and processed in anonymized form only. The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6 (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in particular the legitimate interest of DB Engineering & Consulting to ensure the functioning of the website and to optimize it. 
Other personal data is processed only if you share it with us freely, for example if you personally contact us via e-mail. The legal basis for this is Article 6 (a) of the GDPR.
Please note that data and e-mails sent over the internet are normally unencrypted and are therefore not protected against third-party access.
Because we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of the information sent when you contact us via e-mail, we recommend only sending confidential information via post. Separate data privacy notices apply for the use of our freelancer database and our online application tool.

This website requires the involvement of external service providers, for example data center service providers. The external service providers who we hire to process data are carefully selected and subject to strict contractual obligations as a rule. The service providers work in accordance with the instructions we provide and this is verified by technical and organizational actions and supplementary checks.

All data that we collect from you out of technical necessity are saved temporarily only and are deleted subsequently as soon as possible. All other personal data with which you voluntarily share with us, for example if you personally contact us via e-mail, is saved only for the duration of time needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with legal requirements.

  • You can request information on what data we store about you.
  • You can request the correction, deletion and blocking of your personal data as long as this is permitted by law and possible within the scope of an existing contractual relationship.

  • You have the right to portability of the data which you have provided to us based on a declaration of consent (data portability).

If you grant us consent to use your data, you can withdraw it at any time using the same method you used to grant it. Any processing of your personal data that took place from the time at which you granted your consent to the time at which you withdrew it will still be considered to have been lawful.

We use the Matomo analytics platform (formerly Piwik) on our website in order to analyze the use of our website and regularly improve it. The statistics we gain from this allow us to improve our offering and make it more interesting for users. By means of small text files (cookies), information about how you use our website is saved, including your IP address. This data is anonymized and stored on our servers.
The legal basis for the use of Matamo is point (f) of Article 6 (1) of the GDPR.
Your deactivation options: If you oppose to the analysis of your user behavior, you can configure your browser at any time to refuse the setting of analysis cookies. You can also decide here whether your browser is allowed to store a unique web analysis cookie to enable the website operator to record and analyze various statistical data. If you decide against this, click on the following link in order to install the Piwik deactivation cookie on your browser.
Please note: If you delete all of your cookies, the deactivation cookie is also deleted. This means that you would have to refuse analysis of your user behavior again.
 

We are interested in presenting you with a broadly diversified, multimedia information offering. For this reason, we integrate videos from YouTube (YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066 USA). The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.
The media is integrated in advance data protection mode (using the no-cookie solution), meaning that YouTube cookies and Pixel tags for personalizing advertising and search results are not set until the video is played.
When the YouTube video is played, the following data is sent to Google, the operator of YouTube:

  • IP address
  • Specific address of our web page accessed
  • Browser ID transferred
  • System date and time of access
  • Existing cookies with which your browser can be uniquely identified.

Google is solely responsible for this data processing as the operator of YouTube. Which data is processed is unknown to us and beyond our control. You will find more information here.
We point out that Google can also receive other data about the cookies you have stored. The extent to which and whether Google processes this data is beyond our control.
